Cycles and Positive Thought

It takes 21 days to create a habit, and 3 - 5 years for it to become part of your character. These cycles are important to remember, particularly when trying to understand some of the conditions in your life. Many of those conditions are the result of your thought patterns. If you have conditioned yourself to think a certain way, that type of thinking becomes habitual in a relatively short period of time.


The mind is the link between the unmanifested spirit and the manifested physical plane around you. This reality is summarized well by the phrase "spirit into mind, mind into matter". If you want to change your universe, you must change the way you think. For instance, when you have a lot of things to accomplish during a particular day, do you see those activities as a chore? Or do you see them as an opportunity? An opportunity to put into practice your spiritual teachings and to grow on your path to enlightenment.


During the next 21 days, we encourage you to create a new habit of right, positive thinking. Be fully aware of your thoughts. Pay attention to them, observe them. When a negative or limiting thought enters your mind, let it go. Replace it with positive, non-limiting thoughts. If you continue to do this for 21 days, positive thinking will become a habit. If you continue this practice for 3 - 5 years, it will become character, and your universe will be the better for it.
