The Spirit of the Lotus offers a 21-week and an 8-week course.
Classes meet one time per week for 2 hours, so the 21-week course offers
42 hours of instruction while the 8-week course offers 16 hours.
Each class begins with chanting. This creates a vortex of energy
uniting the students, and is similar to how other groups sing or chant
at the start of a service to create one mind, one body and one spirit.
The chanting lifts the energy of the individual student helping him
or her to be receptive to the spiritual information to be offered, and
it breaks down any competitive barriers between the participants.
After chanting, the students are given a passage from a book
of religious scripture, or one written by Reverend Lang, upon which
to meditate during the upcoming week. These passages are designed to
give the student a deeper understanding of the material taught during
the class. An example of such a passage is:
Thou art Holy when merged with that which is Holy.
Thou art sinless when united with All-ness.
Serve God by serving all of humanity. Meditate.
Rev. Tara
In addition to the meditative passage, a breathing and/or gazing
exercise is given at most classes. The breathing exercises have various
functions depending on the exercise given, but include such things as
relaxation, balancing of energy, clearing the mind, improvement of circulation,
and control of the emotions. The gazing exercises also serve many functions
including focus, concentration, and expansion of mental awareness. Gazing
is the first ranking power for creativity and mastery of the inner and
outer environment.
After the foregoing exercises are given, there is sharing which
generally takes about 10-15 minutes. During this part of the class,
the students discuss their experiences of the previous week, as well
as their insights into the exercises.
Every 8-week and 21-week course includes a “how to”
instruction on meditation. This includes information on proper posture,
the universal meditative times, how to breathe and relax, and guided
visualization. The main meditative technique taught by the Spirit of
the Lotus is the Rainbow Bridge Meditation-a technique which combines
principles of color, light, sound and vibration.
Each course also includes instruction on the seven primary
charkas. These are energy centers in the etheric realm, which are attached
to the physical body at the spine. Here we discuss the location of the
charkas, how many petals they have, their associated colors, and their
attributes.
Other than the foregoing subjects, which are all part of the
21-week and 8-week courses, a variety of different subjects are taught
depending on the course, including the following:
1. The Angelic Kingdom and its hierarchy. The
classes on this topic include
material on the Christ (the head of the Angelic Kingdom), and a discussion
of the Seraphim, Cherubim, Powers, Dominions, Thrones, Archangels, and
Angels;
2. The power of the Spoken Word. Here we teach about the
relationship between
sound and creation, including instruction on the Book of Genesis from
the Old Testament which talks about creation starting with the Word
(“Let there be Light”). The scientific community also
talks about creation beginning with sound, in their terminology “The
Big Bang.” No matter whether it’s the mystic or the scientist,
sound started the ripple in the void, which turned into a wave and
created all that we see. The classes on this topic also provide instruction
on: how words affect self-confidence and the subconscious; the impact
of gossiping; and telling the Truth;
3. The Path to Enlightenment. These classes
discuss the steps to enlightenment
including: 1. Attention. What we pay attention to, that we become; 2.
Concentration. Concentration is focus. It helps pierce duality, the
veil; 3. Observation. There must be detachment in observation. To observe
is to see without describing, judging, assuming, or making conclusions;
4. Meditation. Meditation is merging, being in balance with your environment;
5. Contemplation. Contemplation relates to cycles. Everything has a
rhythm, a cycle. One cannot understand Truth, without seeing cycles.
Out of rhythm, one learns to create; 6. Super Conscious. This is a merging
of the conscious and subconscious. Here you are aware of everything,
you are present, and you can hear the universe. 7. Cosmic Conscious.
Here is where you truly realize you are Spirit. 8. Master Conscious;
9. Christ Conscious; 10. Mother/Father God Conscious; 11. I Am; and
12. Being;
4. Living and Dying. Several concepts are addressed here
including the
interrelation between life and death. To understand death, one must
first understand life. Whatever consciousness you are in during life,
determines where you go in death. In other words, you go where you
have practiced to go in life through the pattern of your thought.
In the classes on this topic, we also provide instruction on the importance
of dying without regret, what happens after the death of the physical
body, the breaking of the Silver Cord, and the breaking of the Golden
Cord.
5. Karma. In these classes, we discuss the concept
of karma, and its basis.
Karma results from, in essence, the belief or thought that you are a
single entity, a separate entity-that you are separate from the All.
We also discuss actions and consequences, and the concept of duality-how
no particular action is, in itself, good or bad;
6. Levels of Mind. Here we teach about the various levels
of the mind including
the: 1. instinctive; 2. subconscious; 3. sub of the subconscious;
4. psychic/environmental; 5. creative; 6. super-conscious; 7. universal;
and 8. master conscious. The thought forms related these different
levels of mind are discussed, as well as the colors and charkas associated
with them;
7. Healing with Light and Color. The classes on this subject
start with the basic premise that all creation is energy (as Einstein
noted in his theory of relativity. E=mc²), and that energy is
composed of light, color, sound and vibration. The meaning of the
various colors is taught, along with their role in healing. For example,
green soothes and energizes, while blue induces calmness and spiritual
inspiration;
8. Cosmic Law. Here we teach the Universal laws.
They apply on all levels, in all dimensions. Examples include: 1. Law
of Attraction; 2. Law of Repulsion; 3. Law of Prosperity; 4. Law of
Cycles; 5. Law of Reincarnation; 6. Law of Impaction; 7. Law of the
Greater Controls the Lesser; 8. Law of Identity; 9. Law of Here and
Now; 10. Law of Rhythm; 11. Law of Manifestation; 12. Law of Limitation;
13. Law of Transmutation; 14. Law of One; 15. Law of the Trinity; 16.
Law of Everything returns to the Source; and 17. the Laws of Wisdom,
Truth, and Love.
Each class in the 21-week and 8-week courses concludes with
a deep level meditation. The purpose of this meditation is to bring
a greater and higher understanding of the materials taught during the
class.
